Terms of use
The essentials of using Filo responsibly.
Working draft: information marked [TO COMPLETE] must be reviewed before public launch. This page is not yet a final legal policy.
1. About Filo
Filo is an independent Dropbox client for macOS and Windows. It is initially offered as beta software and is not affiliated with Dropbox, Inc.
2. Availability
Filo is offered free of charge for now, including during the beta. Its future business model has not been decided; the current offer is not a commitment to permanent free availability. Supported platforms, minimum versions and download requirements will be listed alongside each release. Donations, if offered, are voluntary and do not gate essential features.
3. Beta software
Beta releases may contain defects, including in synchronization features. Keep an independent backup of your data and verify that important files remain accessible. This section will be updated as the product moves toward general release.
4. Third-party services
Filo requires a Dropbox account. Dropbox’s terms still apply. Filo is not developed or endorsed by Dropbox.
5. Intellectual property and licenses
[TO COMPLETE: rights holder, software license, third-party licenses, open-source status if applicable].
6. Liability
The software is provided subject to the limits of applicable law. Nothing in these terms restricts mandatory consumer rights or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED: jurisdiction-specific wording].
7. Contact and governing law
Publisher and contact: [TO COMPLETE]. Governing law and disputes: [TO COMPLETE following legal review].
